andy slavitt, general partner
Andy is a general partner at Town Hall and brings decades of private and public sector leadership in health care, business and technology. Over his career, Andy has been a part of many of the most significant and successful initiatives in health care impacting millions of Americans and the shape of the health care system. Andy previously served as the Acting Administrator of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) under President Obama. He spent a decade at Optum, an organization he helped lead from before its formal inception to the time where it exceeded $35 billion in revenue. In the 1990s, Andy was the founder and CEO of HealthAllies, a digital health company that served the un- and under-insured.
Andy is currently Board Chair of United States of Care, a national non-profit health advocacy organization he founded. Andy leads a number of national health care initiatives, including one on the future of health care, which he co-chairs at the Bipartisan Policy Center. Today he is a highly recognizable voice in health care, with a regular column in the USA Today and regular appearances on CNN, MSNBC and Fox. He is listed in the Politico 50 (right after Bob Mueller and right before Charles Kessler) and was recognized by Modern Healthcare as one of the 10 most influential people in health care.
Andy graduated from the College of Arts and Sciences and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School. He was recently named a Distinguished Policy Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania. He lives in Minneapolis and on Twitter with his wife Lana and their two sons, Caleb, currently in college, and Zach, currently in high school, both of whom are fans of all things basketball and are active participants in conversations about world events with their parents.
trevor price, general partner
Trevor Price is a General Partner at Town Hall. He is also the Founder & CEO of Oxeon Partners, a retained executive search and investment firm in the health care technology and services industry. Trevor is seen as a trusted human capital partner to the CEOs and Venture/Private Equity investors behind many of the high growth innovative companies changing health care. He also led the investments that Oxeon has made in these companies. He was previously a Partner and Senior Vice President at Daversa Health and has been an entrepreneur, starting and growing a variety of technology and service companies.
Trevor is an Adjunct Professor of Health Care Entrepreneurship at the Dartmouth College Tuck School of Business. Outside of his “day job”, he co-hosts A Healthy Dose, a podcast where he discusses the latest hot-topic issues with leaders across the health care industry. Trevor sits on the Board of Directors of Docent Health and Prep For Prep, an organization supporting high-potential youths of color in New York City.
Trevor graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and currently lives in New York City (even though he is a Red Sox fan) with his wife Megan, teen and pre-teen kids Charlie, Tess and Catie (also Red Sox fans) and two Australian Labradoodles Fitz and Harley (definitely Red Sox fans).
David Whelan, General Partner
David Whelan is Managing General Partner at Oxeon Ventures, a predecessor to Town Hall, where he has overseen the company's previous investment portfolio and leads the firm’s venture start-up studio. Under David’s oversight, the ventures studio designs, provides initial capital for, incubates, and builds de novo or purpose-built-from-scratch health care companies. Before Oxeon, David served as CFO and General Partner of Accretive LLC, a private investment firm specializing in building disruptive startup companies. David was also Vice President of Corporate Development with the Virgin Group, where he led development of Virgin America.
Previously, David was an investment banker with Goldman Sachs in London and Sydney. He serves on the board of Friends of Hudson River Park, an independent nonprofit dedicated to preserving and enhancing the Hudson River Park.
David holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce from Bond University in Queensland, Australia. David lives with wife Melanie and their two children in downtown New York City. Outside of Town Hall Ventures, David is typically being educated on the finer details of American sports by Lachlan, his eight year old son, or being inspired by Charlotte, his six year old daughter, as she charges head first into every adventure.
Natalie Davis, director
Natalie is a director at Town Hall where she focuses on portfolio company growth, strategic initiatives, and external affairs. She brings 15 years experience working on policies, strategies, communication and partnerships with government, entrepreneurs, and the private sector that improve health care outcomes for vulnerable populations.
Natalie spent close to a decade at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) where she oversaw the development of consumer outreach for the health insurance exchanges from the initial launch. She then served as the Senior Advisor to Andy Slavitt during his tenure as the Acting Administrator of CMS. In that role, she directed CMS’s national stakeholder outreach and acted as a liaison with health care leaders throughout the country. Most recently, Natalie was Director of Strategic Engagement at the Bipartisan Policy Center and is co-founder and Strategic Advisor to United States of Care.
Prior to CMS, she worked for the National Committee for Quality Assurance, for the George Washington University School of Medicine Office of the Deans, and for Academic Medicine, the scholarly journal of the Association of American Medical Colleges.
Natalie holds an M.A. in Social Policy from George Washington University and is an alumna of Salisbury University school. Natalie lives in Washington, DC with her awesome husband and three young kids. Her favorite place on earth is at the family cabin at Ottertail Lake, Minnesota.
David mishkin, Vice President
David Mishkin is a Vice President on the Town Hall team. In his role, David helps lead the firm’s sourcing and diligence efforts, and post investment, supports Town Hall’s portfolio companies.
Previously, David was a Vice President on the BlueCross BlueShield Venture team at Sandbox Industries, where he was responsible for making investments in innovative healthcare technology and services companies. Prior to Sandbox, David worked in investment banking at Barclays Capital and as a bankruptcy restructuring analyst at Lehman Brothers.
David graduated with an MBA from the Health Care Management program at Wharton, and earned his undergraduate degree in Finance from Washington University in St. Louis. David now spends a disproportionate amount of his free time with his soon-to-be wife, Ari, planning their upcoming wedding and keeping his dog Finn from chewing up his apartment.
ann Hickey, Vice President
As Vice President at Town Hall Ventures, Ann is responsible for identifying, investing in, and partnering with entrepreneurs to build businesses that contribute to the transformation of care delivery specifically for vulnerable populations. Ann cares deeply about Town Hall’s mission and is proud to be a part of an organization that aims to address the system-wide inefficiencies that are failing the most at-risk Americans.
Prior to Town Hall, Ann was Vice President at Archimedes Health Investors where she partnered with high-growth, technology-enabled healthcare services companies and was responsible for all aspects of deal execution, ongoing portfolio management, and investment due diligence. Before joining Archimedes, Ann was Director of Strategic Finance at Castlight Health where she drove the Company’s strategic planning process and led several cross-functional initiatives to accelerate the Company’s path to profitability. Before Castlight, Ann was an Associate on the healthcare team at Oak Hill Capital Partners, a middle-market private equity firm. Ann began her career as an Analyst at Audax Private Equity, where she was introduced to healthcare services investing.
Ann graduated from Duke University with a B.S. in Economics. After several years on the West Coast, Ann and her husband live in Brooklyn with their well-behaved houseplants. While they enjoy exploring all that New York City has to offer, they love the outdoors and are always on the lookout for their next adventure.
Lauren Robb, Senior Associate
Lauren is a Senior Associate at Town Hall assisting with portfolio development and investment analysis. In her role on the team, on many occasions, Lauren is often the first person at Town Hall to meet with a new company.
Before joining Town Hall, for 7 years, Lauren was a director at Optum, a leading health services, technology, and risk-based care delivery company. Lauren worked in the office of the CEO where she focused on strategic growth and solution and business development. While at Optum, she led a number of strategic initiatives around Medicare and Medicaid, complex population management, post-acute care, specialty pharmacy, and provider technology solutions.
Lauren was born and raised in Minnesota and received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Communications with honors from the University of Minnesota. After briefly considering a career in law she followed her passion into health care. Lauren lives in downtown Minneapolis where she enjoys spending as much time as possible outdoors (when its habitable) and especially loves summer on the lake.
Candace Richardson, Senior Associate
As a Senior Associate at Town Hall Ventures, Candace is on the deal team and assists with due diligence and supporting portfolio companies post investment.
Previously, Candace was an Associate at Goldman Sachs for 5 years in the Global Investment Research division where she analyzed healthcare investment opportunities and provided recommendations to institutional clients. Most recently, Candace covered Small and Mid-Cap Biotech stocks. Prior to that, Candace covered Large-Cap and Generic Pharmaceutical stocks and High Yield Healthcare credits. While in college, she interned at Goldman Sachs, The Roosevelt Institute, Bain & Company and Morgan Stanley.
Candace graduated from Columbia University with a B.A. in Economics-Philosophy and History. She lives in Brooklyn and spends her free time exploring the city with friends, painting and teaching tennis to undeserved children in her neighborhood.
